Chugga Chugga Choo Choo! That sound was imitated by my children today as we rode the train to a pumpkin patch. We've been discussing Fall this month in our preschool group so we decided to take a "field trip" to a pumpkin patch before our next lesson on pumpkins. This was no ordinary trip to a pumpkin patch we rode a train! The younger siblings loved the train ride as much as the older ones. Caroline especially loved hanging her head out the window feeling the breeze and listening to the train whistle. When I look at the pictures of her on the train my heart just aches with love. I just melt at how beautiful she is. Connor loved spending time with his friends, Caleb & Travis, Josie & Jake, & Austin & Cierra. We followed the McDonald's to the train station because they had gone on this train ride last year. Except to our dismay when we arrived at the train station it was closed with no posted train rides on Sundays. We quickly called the station number and found out they were not leaving from the Mount Dora station but from the Eustis station. We had about 20 minutes to make it to the Eustis station before the train left. We rushed over to the other station just in time. In the process losing Caroline's pink hairbow (that girl doesn't go anywhere without a hairbow.) Because we were late getting on the train we had to split up because all the seats were taken. So I sat with Connor, Caroline, Dawn, Caleb, & Travis. Craig took Cooper and he and Dustin sat in the back. We were in a totally different car than the rest of our party.
The kids loved it. We stopped at the pumpkin patch and the kids got to pick a pumpkin and surprise it had candy underneath it. They got to pet chickens, goats, & a mini horse. Connor got a sword balloon and Caroline got a pumpkin balloon. They got to meet the engineer and the conductor. We took lots of pictures, 144 to be exact. I was surprised I took that many and I commented to Craig thank goodness for digital cameras - could you imagine trying to load a camera with film? Caroline had her fill by then and had a few meltdowns until we got some food in her at GiGi's house. After the train ride we ordered wings and crashed Angie's (GiGi's) new house. Connor left crying because he wanted to spend the night at GiGi's. He told us the entire way home that he wasn't tired. Caroline was on a sugar high on the way home singing some silly song she was making up.
It was a good, hectic day. I loved being with my kids and sharing a special train ride with them.

So much fun!! I can tell this pre-school fun is right up your alley. Caroline is gorgeous even without a bow.
Oh I love the one of Caroline leaning on the window and gazing out of it. She is a keeper. I am not surprised at your adaptation to three and preschool...you are one of those amazing women, who just do. I must say though, my favorite pics still are the mud on the house ones. Love em all you can.
That looks like SO much fun....I will definitely have to do that next year with Evan!!! How cool! Your pictures were great...I'm glad you guys made it in time!!!
