McAccurate

I have to tell this funny little story from our trip. You might not think it is funny but for some reason it was humorous to me. On the way home we stopped at McDonald's to get some breakfast. We hit the drive thru so we wouldn't have to get the kids out. While ordering at the drive-thru we thoroughly explained our order a few times to the cashier. We paid for our meal and continued on our way. As we pulled back out onto the highway I examined our bag of savory breakfast items and began to dispurse them to hungry members of my family. I finally found my order - a sausage biscuit meal with cheese. Fairly simple - one little add on. Let me preface this by saying I am not a picky eater. I will eat just about anything expect cabbage and seafood. So this post is not to complain about the taste or something disgusting in the food.

I discovered my order had a sticker on it stating it was "Double Checked for Accuracy". As I opened my biscuit I realized that apparently there was a miscommunication somewhere along the way. Instead of a saugage biscuit with cheese I got a saugsage biscuit with egg and cheese. The funny part to me is the sticker stating "Double Checked for Accuracy" and then right out beside the sticker it clearly states my order. I had to take a picture of it to share. It was just struck me as so funny!

Give Thanks to the Lord!

Psalms 100:4 says "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise, give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

I want to use this post to give thanks to God and praise his name for the wonderful Thanksgiving holiday I spent in Alabama with my family. So here's my list of things I am thankful for:

1. I'm thankful for happy children who traveled like champs!
2. I'm thankful for a DVD player in the car so that my children stayed entertained.
3. I'm thankful for the gorgeous fall foilage we gazed upon during our long stretch of I-10 (beautiful trees full of leaves colored orange, yellow, & red in Florida believe it or not!)
4. I'm thankful for healthy parents & grandparents who love their grandchildren!
5. I'm thankful for 2 beautiful sisters who made me laugh so hard!
6. I'm thankful for a patient husband who disregards my not so nice moods!
7. I'm thankful for Sudafed because we all got some serious sinus issues going on from all our travel and weather changes.
8. I'm thankful for a date night out with my husband to see Twilight for the second time and then we hit the Krisy Kreme for a dozen glazed doughnuts!
9. I'm thankful for the friends & family I missed while I was gone.
10. Mostly I'm thankful for the opportunity to live life and enjoy the amazing blessings that God has given my family!

T is for Thankfulness

Today our preschool met and Jeanne was their teacher again. They learned the letter 'T'. They were so cute when Jeanne taught them that tongue and toes start with the letter T. Connor came home and told Uncle Brant that he learned the letter T by sticking out his tongue and he said we put our feet on the table. They learned that their toes start with T and they put their foot on the table when they learned that. They also made the cutest turkeys. Each feather of the turkey named one thing or person that they were thankful for. They read a Dora book about Thanksgiving and who Dora was thankful for. They painted the letter T and we tried to use finger paints to make a turkey but we just couldn't get it right. They sang the cutest little song to the rhythm of "Ring Around the Rosie" about who they were thankful for. It was a wonderful lesson. I must say as the assistant it is nice to watch another teacher and gleen things from observation. Later I will do another post of the things I am thankful for but today I am thankful for our preschool group and the amazing teachers Connor gets the privilege of learning from!

Connor's New Pet

As much as I love my other children this post today is about Connor. The funniest thing happened this morning. A lizard jumped on Connor's back and took a ride. He stayed there for a good long time. I, of course, don't really have a thing for lizards but Connor LOVES them. He named his new pet, Hitchu. He was in heaven having that thing hang on him. I had to take pictures of it to show him because the lizard was on his back and he couldn't see it. Eventually the lizard jumped off and Connor was devastated. We watched the lizard sun himself at the screen for awhile and then Connor got over it and went to play again.

I also put some pictures of Connor & Cooper playing on our bed. Brothers! I hope they still like each other this much a year from now! There is also a picture of Connor holding a fish from his fishing trip last weekend with Uncle Brant, Daddy, & PawPaw. They said he was a good boy on the water, bringing them shrimp bait whenever they asked. Let's just hope he doesn't have the "Cannon Curse" when it comes to fishing!

Movie Night

Yesterday was very exciting at the Cannon house. Connor pooped in the potty for the first time! Who would have ever guessed I would be so excited about poop! To celebrate this monumental event Craig took Connor & Caroline to Wal-Mart so that Connor could pick out the movie of his choice. We had movie night last night with popcorn and blankets on the floor and lots of laughter. We enjoyed "Percy Takes the Plunge!" one of the Thomas & Friends videos.

Here's my dilemma and all you experienced potty trainers out there please leave a suggestion! As Connor sat on the potty today after lunch Caroline told me she needed to go poo-poo. I haven't really tried to train her because I didn't think she was ready and I'm still not convinced she is. Well she sat on the little potty and Connor sat on the big potty and I'll be danged if she didn't poop! All of the sudden I hear Connor saying, "Ewww . . . . I smell Caroline's poop!" I ran in there and sure enough that girl done gone number two! What do I do? Is she too young (22 months old) or should I just go for it? Let me know your opinion!

Central Florida Zoo

Today our preschool class went to the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford. The kids had a blast spending time with each other and seeing all the animals. I think Connor especially loved the snakes. Caroline just loved running around and spending time with her new love, Austin (Jeanne's nephew). Of course, Cooper was a dream as usual!

We also took a class while we were there on the classification of animals. The instructors did a fabulous job putting it into terms the kids could understand. Connor was brave enough to even pet a bearded dragon.

The spider monkey was so cute, he was staring at us through the glass and he was so . . . close. But the best part of the day for me was the fact that Connor kept his underwear dry the whole trip, no accidents! This potty training process is draining on the nerves. With the help of my friends this trip was a huge success!

Twilight Saga

For those of you who know me you know I have been caught up in a new book series by Stephenie Meyer called "Twilight." These books are somewhat controversial because one of the main characters is a vampire. I know, you say, Jenny is reading a vampire book, goodness! Well it is actually a teen love story and I have just been captured by it. Just like with the Harry Potter series I think in order for you to debate a book's worth you need to read it to see what all the fuss is about. I have a huge problem with people trashing something they have never even read. So anyways back to the point of the this post I finished the last book in the series last night and now I am lost without a story to get swept away in. But the movie for the first book is coming out in a few weeks so I am anxiously awaiting to compare the book to the movie. So I say if you have some questions about the worth of this book try it out and tell me what you think.

Z is for Zoo and Potty Training

Yesterday our preschool class met again and this time Jeanne was the teacher. The kids learned the letter 'Z' and the theme was the Zoo. They made adorable zebra puppets, painted the letter 'Z' and read some great books, Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear? and Goodnight, Gorilla. They even got to act out the scenes for Goodnight, Gorilla. This was all in preparation for our big trip to the zoo on Friday. This will be Connor's first trip to the zoo. More pictures to follow!

On a side note you might have noticed the potty chair picture. Yes it is true, Connor has pretty much potty trained himself. I guess Dr. Albino was right, if you wait until they are ready then it happens fast and effectively. I do expect accidents in the future but he just woke up yesterday from his nap and exclaimed, "Mommy, I need to potty!" Of course, I jumped right up and ran him over to the potty. He has been really good about telling me ever since. We still have not ventured out in public with underwear I'm a little gunshy about that. But I am so excited about this whole thing (and he looks so cute in his little Lightning McQueen underwear)!

NKOTB Concert

Jordan, Jon, Danny, Donnie, or Joey who's your favorite? I got the opportunity to see them all last night at a New Kids on the Block concert. I went along with Angie, Jeanne, Denise, Deborah, & Rachel. We had a blast! Angie got ahold of some T-shirts from the 80's so Jeanne, Angie, & I wore them along with some pins and other accessories. We met up with our crew in Tampa at a restaurant across from the Forum where the concert was held. We ate and then headed over to the concert. Nastasha Bedingfield opened for them and she was great. Then the New Kids came out and the place went wild. They sang songs from their new album and their old hits. It was a fabulous concert. I was amazed at how many songs I remembered from 15 years ago. Some of my favorites last night were: Step by Step, Favorite Girl, Cover Girl, Hanging Tough, I'll be Lovin' You Forever, Please Don't go Girl, and some new songs, Summertime, and Click Click Click. I'll post a video of one of the songs I recorded it's not the best quality. I must say I have always been a Joey Joe fan and he is still the hottest of them all! I didn't get to bed today until 1:00 this morning, my throat is all swolled up, and my ears still haven't stopped ringing but I wouldn't trade it for the world! Thanks Deb for getting those tickets it was truly an amazing night!

Trick or Treat Smell my Feet . . .

Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat! My kids got plenty "good to eat" last night while trick or treating. We stuck to our tradition of trick or treating in MawMaw & PawPaw's neighborhood (the same neighborhood Craig grew up in). First, we met at MawMaw & PawPaw's house to show off our costumes and hook up the Rascal 600 for neighborhood rounds. I took some pictures of the kids in their costumes - Note: Caroline is flipping me off in half her pictures (tell me what you really think Caroline) After getting everything ready we loaded the two older ones in the jogging stroller attached to the Rascal 600 and we loaded Coop up in the double stroller. We took a quick ride over a few blocks to Jeanne's Mom's house to meet up with our crew and unload Cooper with Christy (Jeanne's sister). We had to have a little photo shoot there with all the kids. All the costumes were so . . . cute. After that we all loaded up in their van and headed out for some candy. We probably hit about 5 houses before we started hearing the kids complain so we just went back to Mrs. Brenda's house and let the kids play together. They loved playing together just as much as trick or treating.
