Something is going on . . .

I went back to the doctor today and something is going on. I was dilated enough that they could strip my membranes, yippee! I saw Dr. Helms today and he said it should happen sometime this weekend but if not then they would send me over to the hospital on Monday to induce me. He said he got a good stripping and it feels like he did. When my membranes were stripped with Caroline I had her two days later so maybe we'll meet our new one this weekend! He also said he thought the baby was a seven pounder, I was pretty surprised by that comment but I know it is just a guess. Connor was 7 lbs 7oz and Caroline was 8 lbs even so I am expecting somewhere in the 8 pound range. I guess we'll find out soon!

Maternity Leave

I am ready to leave this phase of maternity behind me and move on. The doctor checked me again today and my cervix is still to far up and closed for him to strip my membranes. He mentioned making me wait until 42 weeks before they would induce me. I go back this Thursday for another check but he said he didn't think anything would happen between now and Thursday. My mom changed her flight and is flying home tomorrow so that hopefully she can drive back down when the baby does come. So we will just wait . . . . . .

Connor and the Super Duper Clean Mailbox!

Ever since my mom (Nannie) arrived in town Connor has been pretending to be a mailman. For those of you who don't know my mom has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years now. Connor likes to write letters to everyone and especially his Uncle Brant. Lately he has been creating "mail" for Uncle Brant and placing those letters in Uncle Brant's "super duper clean mailbox." What an imagination! Today he created a dinosaur sticker book for Uncle Brant, placed a stamp in the corner of the envelope, and even drew a picture of Uncle Brant on the cover of the envelope. This is the first time he has ever drawn a picture of a person- mostly his drawings consist of scribbles. I was just so excited to actually see his first person that I had to blog about it.

In other news, Caroline has thoroughly enjoyed having my mom here too. She likes having all that extra attention! I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow (Sunday) and I go to the doctor on Monday. If the third baby is supposed to be the easiest how come this one is taking so long? Connor has born at 36 weeks, Caroline at 38 weeks, this one wants to make me suffer for not finding out the gender yet. So sometime this week hopefully we'll have a new little one!

I went to the doctor today. I am 37 weeks and I am hoping to have the baby next week. So what do you think a boy or a girl? I thought I would try a poll on our blog to see what the consensus is. So vote and let us know.

Blizzard Beach

Today Craig took Connor to Blizzard Beach for a little father/son time before the baby comes. It was nice having mother/daughter time at home with Caroline as well. Uncle Brant gave us some tickets to Typhoon Lagoon/Blizzard Beach a while back. I decided to use a few of the tickets to take two of the students I tutor to Typhoon Lagoon as a celebration for passing the FCAT. So Craig used the remaining ticket to take Connor to Blizzard Beach today. Connor even got his first temporary tattoo - Lightning McQueen of course! I guess he was exhausted by the time they went to get the tattoo and he pitched a fit about it not coming off. He wanted to hold it and play with it. I must say I was quite impressed that Craig did it all by himself and even came home with a camera full of pictures. They got home earlier than I expected and both of them are dog tired but from what I can tell by looking at the pictures it seems as if they had a blast!

Happy Fourth of July!

Today we celebrated our country's birthday with friends and family. We had a slow start to the day just enjoying being around the house. After naps we decided to go swimming next door at our neighbor's pool. Uncle Brant even joined us for a little dip. Connor caught a frog while we were swimming. It started to rain so we got out and headed to McDonald's for an All-American dinner - burgers & fries. Of course, Connor enjoyed some delicious apple slices. Then we got ready and headed to Leesburg to watch the fireworks. Connor & Caroline had a blast running around in the parking lot with their friends as we waited for the show to begin. We didn't get home until after 10:00 tonight and Caroline fell asleep on the ride home. We all had an enjoyable and relaxing day! Happy Birthday America!
