Back in September my in-laws celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. We threw them a party today to celebrate this occasion. We held it at the Lake Miona Recreation Center in The Villages. The building had a nautical theme it was very pretty. Publix made a two-tiered cake and TooJay's catered the food.
What an accomplishment, 50 years together. I only hope Craig & I can one day celebrate the same. In today's society you see so many couples getting divorced, that it is a rarity to make it to 25 years much less 50. I will definitely be making scrapbook pages for all three of my children's books so when they look back they will see the legacy of their grandparents and hopefully they will treasure this day and what it means for a long time.
I did a little research online and found out that the number one hit the week they got married was "It's All in the Game" by Tommy Edwards. I added it to my playlist. It makes me think of poodle skirts and soda pop! I envision a scene from the movie Back to the Future. Mr. Ron said he remembers gas only being 60 cents a gallon back then!

Awe how sweet. Everytime I see Craigs dad I remember having to sing amazing grace to him over the phone...

I usually turn music off on the blogs I visit, but I really enjoyed that song. Yes indeed a 50 year wedding anniversary is quite an accomplishment. Congratulations to your in-laws!
