As most of you know Connor has severe food allergies and doesn't get to eat many of the things others get to enjoy. Well we had a new first today!! I would like to give a huge shout out to PUBLIX for making this happen. I did a little research online looking at a company called Ian's that makes organic and allergy-free items that Connor can eat. He has been eating their chicken nuggets and fish sticks for a while now. So I found out that they have a whole line of allergy-free products including: French Toast sticks, chicken patties, fish patties, Mac -n- No cheese, and PIZZA! It was really expensive for me to order it off their website because I would have to pay for the shipping in dry ice because these items are frozen. So I called my local Publix and they ordered it for me and I didn't have to pay any shipping! Here's the cool part it came in today - one day after I ordered it! So we threw a pizza party tonight. Just the five of us and Uncle Brant stopped by. Of course, just like his first experience with cheese, it wasn't a real hit. It's gonna take some time to get him used to it. But just the fact that it is one more experience that he has. He won't have to be out of the loop when kids are talking about their favorite food, pizza ('cause everybody knows pizza is the all time kid favorite.) Pizza is in so many children's books and until you go without it you don't even realize how much it is a part of their world even if they don't like it. I know he'll grow to love it just like he did cheese or soy cheese to be exact. We built some background knowledge tonight!

Bed time and Pizza!
Tonight Craig rocked Cooper while I put the other two to bed. I took them both to Connor's room and read them a few books. Then I took Caroline to her room and placed her in her crib while I finished picking up the toys in her room. I was real quiet because I wanted to just listen to her jabber. I love listening to see what she will say because many times she can't get a word in with Connor around. My heart just melted as I heard her pretend play with her baby and her Dora doll. It was the sweetest thing ever. I know when she's five it won't mean the same thing it does now but to hear her tell her babies to go "night night" and watch her tuck them in their blankets for the first time just melted me to a puddle on her bedroom floor. She talked and talked to them for a long time and she kept telling me "Ssshhh . . . . ." so I wouldn't wake them up. Oh I adore that girl!!!

Yeah Connor! Pizza rocks. I never thought of missing food that way before. Your right, it would be hard for him to understand having never tasted it. I am glad his world is opening up!
