Today a few of us stay at home "retired teachers" got together for a little three year old preschool class. Dawn Windham was the teacher today and Jeanne McDonald was the assistant. Dawn organized this amazing lesson using the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom as a wonderful introduction to letters for our preschoolers. Our plan is to meet twice a month and begin teaching our children all the letters and the sounds they make. We have this wonderful meeting place, our church, and the younger siblings came along and played with me and Jackie (Austin's mom) outside while the older ones had "school." Then we all ate lunch together out in the nice breeze and let the kids play. Connor & Caroline both crashed at naptime today after a good long play. I'm am very excited to see my baby learn and grow with good friends in a safe, loving environment.

Girl, I didn't even mention I LOVE the song and blog page. How good are you at being thematic? :)
What a great idea, and what a great book! I love that you girls get together with the kids so much. It really makes me wish that I lived back home. In the meantime, I will participate through your blogs! Lots of luck with "Bay B C's" as Raleigh would say...

Very cute book! I'm glad you girls can get together and have so much fun teaching the kids.
That's so awesome...i miss being "home" with you all too! but that is so cool that you can get together like that and have "school" without sending them off to school! what a wonderful blessing for you.
Cool idea! We'll have to get that book for Parker.
