Beach Babes

We took a quick trip last weekend to Fort DeSoto.  It was very crowded but still a beautiful beach.  It sure made me ready for summer break and a week at Sanibel.  The water was still a little too cold for me but Caroline could not get enough of it.  Connor buddied up with the family sitting next to us and we had a hard time talking him into spending time with his own family.  Cooper was busy but always took a break to hang out on his Mommy's lap.  Here are some pictures of the kids.

Spring

Spring is in the air so I thought I'd share what the Cannon's have been up to since the warm weather has finally shown up.
It's been a crazy couple of weeks around here.  My kids have been sick since St. Patrick's Day.  From strep to ear infections, to a contusion on the foot bone they've had it all. We are finally on the mend & I am sure Dr. Albino is glad to have a break from my kids cause she's been seeing their faces quite a bit lately.  During that time my Granny passed away so I took a quick trip up to Alabama to be a pall bearer in her funeral.  She always had a good sense of humor and decided that she wanted her granddaughters to be her pall bearers and wear her favorite color red with jeans.  It was a beautiful service and I was honored to be a part of it. While I was up in Bama my mom showed me this picture of my Granny and I just loved it.  It depicts her in her element.  She loved being outdoors - hunting, taking care of her flowers, or leading her unassuming grandchildren to "the branch" to romp in the water.  We loved spending our time at Granny's with our cousins.  We always had a good time.

My mom came back to Florida with me and spent Easter with us.  We had an egg hunt at MawMaw & PawPaw's on Saturday.  We went to church with them on Sunday.  The kids had a great Easter they really enjoyed having their Nannie here with them.  Monday morning we woke up early to watch the shuttle launch from our backyard.  It's so neat to watch it launch while it is still dark outside.  It's incredible that we have such a good view from way over here.

I only have a few more days of Spring Break left, it has gone by so fast. We still have plans to finish remodeling Caroline's room with a paint job.  We finally got her toddler bed out so now all that's left is some paint.  I did get the chance to clean out & reorganize the kids' closets.  Wow, that was a task.  So it's off to spend the last few days of Spring Break with my family & eat the rest of my kids' Easter candy.  Watch out Lifesaver Gummies - Here I come!

Guess What?

Pretty princess panties and potties are the topic of conversation at the Cannon house as of late.  Caroline is potty trained!  When we started working on this last week she was resistant.  When she finally realized we weren't going to give in she went for it.  One night she was eating some apples in the living room and she felt that urge to go.  She perks up and says, "Well I better get going" and runs off to the potty.  It was really cute.

I had to put this picture of Connor & Caroline up.  I just melts my heart when I see this picture.  Sometimes pulling up this image in my mind is enough to get me through a rough day.  It gives me perspective on how good my life really is.  I love my babies to death.  They keep me going.  I just finished my second reading endorsement class.  It was a lot of work  but I learned a lot.  I haven't had a free weekend in months where I didn't work on that class.  I am so thrilled to be finished and excited for a break.  Spring break is how long off?

Happy Birthday PawPaw!

We celebrated my father-in-law's birthday this weekend.  The kids had a lot of fun playing with PawPaw on his Rascal.  He even added an attachment (a basket) to the back so Cooper could ride too!  They loved the ice cream and playing outside but most of all they loved spending time with their PawPaw!

Changing it up in 2010!

Our bedroom hasn't seen any changes since September of 2001 when we moved into our house.  It was time for a change.  Needless to say, there's been more change in our bedroom than in the White House.  For Christmas my sweet husband promised to paint and update our bedroom.  I picked out a new bedding set and he has been painting away all week.  Today he got a lot finished so I could take this picture.  He still has to complete our closet and bathroom but I am excited about how it is looking so far despite the carpet stains I still need to steam away.  One funny little story about this project - Craig went through our room the first day and spackled all the little knicks on our walls that needed to be painted over.  The spackle is white.  Later that day Caroline walked through our room and made the comment to me, "Oh no Mommy, look a bird pooped on your wall."  She was serious, it was so funny.  This past month or so that girl notices bird poop on any and everything.  I don't know what has inspired this latest trend but it's rather funny.
So Craig's been busy painting and I busied myself today while the kids took naps and I cleaned up the kitchen.  I love the way white cabinets & appliances look but they are so hard to keep clean.  Last New Years Craig & I pulled out the appliances and cleaned the floor and their sides.  I continued that cleaning tradition today.  It's amazing how much gunk is behind my stove.  It's disgusting ~ well not anymore!
I also wanted to share some sweet pictures of the youngest two playing tea party.  Caroline pulled all her picnic stuff out to the porch and made a tea party.  Cooper just loved it ~ as you can see by the look on his face.

Here is Caroline showing me her teeth.  I was trying to get her to smile.  She's something else!

Well Happy New Year to all!  I hope this year is full of wonderful changes!

Happy Birthday Caroline!

Happy Birthday to my terrific three year old!  What a beautiful girl you are!  I added Caroline's favorite song to my playlist, Beyonce's "Single Ladies: Put a Ring On It" it has become her favorite from our family visits to The Town Square in The Villages.  She & her brothers love to dance to this song on the square.
