Fort DeSoto Camping/Beach Trip

Sunday Craig & Connor and Dustin Windham & his son Caleb took a Father/Son camping trip to Fort DeSoto. They pitched their tents and went fishing in their kayaks. Connor & Caleb had a blast playing in the water, touching fish & sleeping in a tent for the first time. On Monday Caroline & I and Dawn & Travis met the campers at Fort DeSoto and spent the day at the beach. We took a quick tour of the cannons at the fort and then off to the sand & sun we went. Connor & Caroline both LOVED the beach. They played so hard in the sand. The ocean was still a bit cool to go swimming but we waded in the water getting our feet wet. After washing all the sand off we went out to eat at a local restaurant called the SandBar and then we drove home and unpacked!

No butterflies were harmed in the making of this movie!

Yesterday we took the kids up to the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville. The museum offers a program once a month for Walkers-Preschoolers. The theme this month was "Treehouses." They learned what kind of animals live in trees and they even got to see a snake. After the program we took a tour of the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit at the museum. I must say that was the best part. When we first entered the exhibit the butterflies were everywhere and Connor & Craig even touched a few until a staff member informed us the butterflies were not to be touched. So needless to say no butterflies were harmed in the making of this movie.

He's Not Dead Yet!

Craig proudly wore his Monty Python shirt today exclaiming that "I'm not dead yet!" for his birthday. I tried to sneak a little cake and cards on the table when we got home from church today but Connor spoiled the surprise by telling Craig all about it before we even got inside the house. The kids & I practiced singing "Happy Birthday" in the car on the way home and it just got them so excited about Daddy's birthday. I think Connor thought he might get some presents too!

Caroline's Baby Dedication

Today we dedicated Caroline along with 4 other babies at church. We had a lunch then the ceremony. Even though she growled through the entire service she looked so beautiful in her all white dress. When I look at these pictures of her my heart just swells at how beautiful she is. I know all moms must think that their daughters are the most beautiful but mine truly is. Her big blue eyes and olive tanned skin just shone so bright against the backdrop of a simple, but elegant dress. If I feel this way about her in a white dress now I can't even imagine how I will feel when she is walking down the aisle in her wedding dress. At least I got a while to prepare.

My Girly Girl!

I had to post a few pictures of my "girly girl". Due to the fact that Caroline has an older brother most of the time she plays with cars and boy toys. Every so often she'll grab her purse and necklace and prance through the house. I finally snapped a few shots of her showing off her bling bling. At heart I think she'll remain a tom boy but every so often even tom boys feel the need to dress up.

Easter Best!

I snapped a few pictures of the kids wearing their Easter dress clothes. We all wore green this year. My kids might be filthy most of the time but they clean up nice!

Easter Morning

So the Easter Bunny came to visit last night. Connor & Caroline both slept until about 8:15 this morning. Craig & I were up at 7:30 just waiting on them to wake up. They both had a good time looking through their baskets and eating the candy left for them. Connor's favorite's are a tow truck and a little blue bunny that poops jelly beans. (Thanks, Nannie for that toy!) Caroline really liked her new sunglasses and Dora book.
