Sumter County Fair 2008

Last night we took the family to the Sumter County Fair. We wanted to see the crash-up derby because we knew Connor would love watching the cars crash. We also wanted to watch Jeanne's nephew, Austin, compete in his first derby. (He took fourth place, Yippee!) I think Connor's favorite part was watching the Monster Truck spin in the dirt. Before the derby started we took Connor on a few rides that were age appropriate. We also took a little tour of the animals that were being shown at the fair. It was a fun night that kept the kids up really late. We snapped a shot of Caroline sleeping in the car on the way home. They were exhausted but they had an awesome time!

SeaWorld

Today we took the kids to SeaWorld for the first time. They were so . . . good. I didn't get a chance to take very many pictures because there was so much to see and do. Connor loved the dolphins and sea lions. We bought him a little plastic dolphin as a souvenir and he played with that dolphin tonight in the bath tub forever. He would make the dolphin perform all the tricks that he saw the real dolphins perform today. It was really cute when I asked him what the dolphin's name was he came up with "Craig." Caroline was an absolute jewel today. She loved the shows and seeing the penguins and dolphins in the underwater views. It was a fun but windy day.

Hats Off to a Great Morning!

I snapped a few pictures of Connor & Caroline playing with Connor's hats this morning. This is one of the first times I have been able to get a picture of both of them together. Connor is actually smiling at the camera now. He used to be the worst one to take pictures of because he wouldn't even look at the camera most times.

Steppin' Out!

Caroline is finally walking. She started taking steps last week and she just gets better & better each day. We are really excited that she is stepping out!

Allergen Free Valentine's Day Party

I wanted to blog some on the Valentine's Party we celebrated last week. It was an Allergen Free party with about 4 kids with food allergies attending. The kids had lots of treats that they could eat which is so unusual at a party. It was so . . . nice for Connor to watch his friends eat the same thing he does and for me not to worry about him grabbing someone else's food. It was also the first time he ever exchanged Valentine's. He had Lightning McQueen valentine's, of course! I read the kids a book about Valentine's Day before they exchanged cards. It was a great party! Thanks to Janet Kornegay for hosting! It was a real treat for us!

More Pictures

Here the rest of the pictures from the last blog. These shots are of Caroline playing with my pots & pans and Connor at the WinterFest.

The Latest

I've been feeling really bad about the shape of our blog lately. Our camera died on us so Uncle Brant has graciously let us borrow his. I have decided to just put a summary of pictures of what has happened since I blogged last. You'll see Connor & Craig working on our latest endeavor a garden in the backyard. I also got some cute shots of Caroline eating chocolate pudding. Hopefully we'll get a new camera soon and I'll be more diligent about updating the blog!
